Salary Benchmarking Survey for SciComm in India
As science communicators working in India, we have often observed or experienced the lack of standardised benchmarked salaries in this field. We believe that an anonymous survey regarding salaries could be a starting point to address this issue. We request your participation, as your contribution brings us one step closer to building a more transparent and equitable science communication ecosystem in India.
This survey has been created as a result of discussions on the ‘SciComm India Hub’ WhatsApp Community and is facilitated by Nandita Jayaraj, Nishtha Bhargava, Shruti Sundaresan and Debdutta Paul, with inputs from others.

At scientific fairs and events, the complex web of science is woven into a concrete, relatable experience. They serve as vivid demonstrations of curiosity, innovation, and discovery. These dynamic platforms are essential for science communication because they bridge the knowledge gap between the complicated intricacies of research and the general audience. Science fairs provide a special atmosphere that not only celebrates the glories of scientific research but also fosters a greater understanding of the scientific process and its profound effects on our world by bringing together aspiring scientists, educators, families, and communities.
In today's fast-paced technological world, science fairs play a crucial role in promoting scientific literacy. They inspire enthusiasm and knowledge, driving us towards a brighter future.
