This information boom will keep accelerating due to the rapidly developing technology in the coming years. An unfortunate consequence will naturally be the equally fast spread of wrong information.
This will reduce the general public's trust in Science, as it will gradually become more difficult to separate facts and fiction.
The COVID-19 pandemic revealed the harmful effects of the spread of mis- and disinformation and the consequence of distrust in Scientists.
